What is it? 

Our ARINA Room is an international, pluralistic space and place designed to support and enhance the catalytic creativity of interaction and learning in the network. It is an intranet – an internet-based software system that supports communications, collaboration, networking, media-sharing, and knowledge-management among geographically dispersed individuals and groups.

ARINA uses this space to conduct its distance learning. Associates may also use this vital infrastructure to conduct their programs. Find out more...

What can I do there?

	Whatever you can dream up to make use of the features of Our ARINA Room that bears relation to individual and social change and development, and is consistent with our philosophy, principles, and praxis!
	Use the Associate Directory to network, find someone in a particular field of work to collaborate or brainstorm with, etc.
	Bring the questions and challenges you face and expect others to engage with you to explore them and share experiences. These may become bona fide research questions we all recognize as critical for individual and/or social change and development work.
	Participate in existing activities that interest you
	Initiate and take a leadership role in new activities that support & inform your work interests – short-term and long-term
	Attract other Associates to engage in exploring, testing, or reacting to an idea you’ve developed
	Conduct a group meeting, educational event, etc.
	Track a project’s progress and schedule
	Reap the benefit of our innovative CyberMentorsm  program & help us evaluate it
	Use & contribute to the Library and Web ToolRoom resources
	Evaluate and contribute to the whole Associate program and structure
	Volunteer to help new Associates get oriented

  ARINA Room features include:

Ø       Associates Directory

Ø       Who is online when you are

Ø       Group announcements

Ø       Polls with predetermined and/or free-form responses

Ø       Creation of groups by interest-focus, projects, other specific purposes

Ø       Live Online Chats or Meetings (scheduled or spontaneous chat rooms)

Ø       Topic area discussions with purpose, structured to produce outcomes defined by initiator (explore questions, pool resources, research, collaborative writing project, deliberate an issue, evaluate, etc.)

Ø       Bulletin board forum discussion for less structured, less outcome-based discussions

Ø       Load documents, presentations, web links, right into current discussions

Ø       Optional transcripts of chat room and topic area discussions

Ø       Library & Web ToolRoom for reference and working documents and web resource links

Ø       Project tracking (upcoming)
